Well you get the idea about his credentials. He has taught and lectured in so many places, we wouldn't have space to tell you about the man if we listed it all. Rey
Rey is an exceptional Composer - who actually performs his music out live! What a refreshing thought. Rey is a genuine "Cat" with that old school knowledge, old school flavor and still looking forward with his music. Rey can give you that finger snapping groove and then take you as far out as you want to go. Then obviously he is able to back it all up with wonderful stories about what happened with Bird at the gig that night.
Rey has toured many parts of the world such as: Spain, Germany, Brazil, London, Ireland, Austria, Scotland, France, Finland, Italy,Republic of Tuva [1st African American Jazz Group to perform there], Russia and more. Performing with very well known groups such as Sun Ra Arkrestra, Lionel Hampton and Tito Puente.
While playing with his group and others he has played for many of the International and Local Jazz Festivals:

What we have shared here is just the tip of the iceberg. Rey will be updating the site with more detail on his adventures soon. With all that Rey has going on it is amazing to think how humble he is - hanging out with any and all musicians to gig, jam and just have fun, but teaching us all the while.
Rey played on Janet Beaman's CD's, Level I and Level II - and recorded one of his original songs Timbre Tambre on the latter. Rey's CD's will be on sale in Jazzi Gifts. Take a listen right here soon when his songs are uploaded to the site and then purchase a full copy for home.
Rey is always happy to hear from musicians looking for someone to record or just fill in on a gig. He plays in some of the best venues in the area and abroad, but is just as happy to play a 3 piece in a small restaurant. The folks always digs Rey's music, plus he always has a smile and a quick joke for us. Check out Rey's calendar and catch him live!
